A titanium bipolar plate substrate is usually chosen as the base metal due to its low cost, ease of manufacture into stampable bipolar plates, and its light weight.

The cell performance of the gold-plated bipolar plates is close to and even better than the PEM fuel cells with graphite and pure titanium bipolar plates. Gold-plated titanium bipolar plates can be employed to produce fuel cells with light weight, low coating cost and low contact resistance, ideal for portable applications.

    FAQs About Custom Titanium Parts

    • What is CNC milling?

CNC mills are automatic cutting machines that use a rotating spindle head to remove unwanted material. CNC milling machines come in a variety of sizes and with different axis configurations. They are primarily used for cutting harder metals, but can machine workpiece materials such as plastic and aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium.

    • For CAD drawings, what are the commonly used file formats?

      1. DWG (Drawing): Developed by Autodesk, DWG is a proprietary file format used for storing 2D and 3D design data and metadata. It is widely used in AutoCAD and other Autodesk software.
      2. DXF (Drawing Exchange Format): Also developed by Autodesk, DXF is a file format for exchanging CAD drawings between different CAD applications. It is a plain text format, making it human-readable, and it supports 2D and 3D data.
      3. STL (Stereolithography): STL is a file format commonly used for 3D printing and computer-aided design. It represents 3D surface geometry as a series of interconnected triangles. STL files are widely supported by various CAD and 3D printing software.
      4. STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product Data): STEP is an ISO standard for the computer-interpretable representation and exchange of industrial product data. It is a versatile and neutral format used for exchanging 3D CAD models.
      5. PDF (Portable Document Format): While not a native CAD format, PDF is widely used for sharing CAD drawings in a format that is easily viewable and printable. Some CAD software allows the export of 2D and 3D drawings to PDF.
      6. DGN (MicroStation Design File): DGN is a file format used by Bentley Systems' MicroStation CAD software. It can store 2D and 3D design data and is used primarily in architecture and engineering.
    • What's the lead time?

The delivery time is generally 3-4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the product process, quantity and number of orders. Usually after the Chinese Spring Festival and National Day (early October each year), the order volume will increase and the delivery time will be extended.

    • Do you offer samples before placing a large order?

Yes, we'd like to provide samples.

    • What factors affect titanium's quality?

Purity, processing methods, and alloy composition are key factors.

    • What kind of support do you offer after purchase?

We offer comprehensive after-sales support. This includes technical assistance and warranty services.

    • What is CNC turning?

CNC lathes, also known as power tool lathes, are ideal for cutting any symmetrical cylindrical or spherical part. Characteristically, the lathe rotates the workpiece on a vertical or horizontal axis, while the fixed forming instrument moves around it in a more or less linear path. The action of cutting the workpiece on a CNC lathe is called turning.

    • What's the shipping methods?

We usually choose UPS, DHL or FedEx. If the gross weight is > 100 kg, we could choose sea transportation. You can also tell us which shipping methods you prefer.

    • What are the grades of titanium available?

We offer various grades, each suited for different applications.
      Gr1, Gr2, Gr3, Gr4, Gr5 (Ti-6Al-4V), Gr7 (Ti-0.2Pd), Gr9 (Ti-3Al-2.5V), Gr12 (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni), Gr23 (Ti-6Al-4V ELI).

    • Can titanium be combined with other metals?

Yes, it's often alloyed to enhance its properties.

    • Is there a warranty period for the titanium products?

Yes, we offer a warranty. We stand by the quality of our products and can discuss warranty options based on your specific needs.
