    Silver tungsten alloy (W-Ag) is also called tungsten silver alloy, is the composite of tungsten and silver. High conductivity, thermal conductivity and high melting point of silver and high hardness, welding resistance, small material transfer, and high burning resistance of tungsten are conbined into silver tungsten sintering material. Silver and tungsten are not compatible with each other. Silver and tungsten binary alloys normally manufactured via powder metallurgy. For tungsten content over 60%, we will use the infiltration method. The properties of Tungsten composites are related to the silver-to-tungsten ratio. While tungsten content improves, the electric arc and wear resistance will increase, the thermal and electrical conductivity will reduce.

    Tungsten Silver Alloy Applications

    Silver tungsten alloy is mainly used in electrode materials and welding materials; such as: low-voltage automatic switch, high voltage circuit breakers and protection switches and so on.

    Silver Tungsten Electrode

    Silver tungsten electrical contact will generate mixed oxides, if it is frequently off in the air, under operating current, so that form the the surface film that can increase the contact resistance. It is used widely in such industries as engine, electric power, electron, metallurgy, spaceflight and aviation.

    Production Technology of Silver Tungsten Alloy

    Manufactured by a process involving pressing, sintering and infiltrating with silver under strictly controlled conditions. Tungsten based composites are strong refractory metal materials with superior heat, electric arc, wear and deformation resistance at high temperature welding, flash butt and spot welding. They have excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. The properties of Tungsten composites vary according to the silver-to-tungsten ratio. If the tungsten content improves, the electric arc and wear resistance will increase while the thermal and electrical conductivity, on the contrary, reduce.
